Novation's Launchkey is a seamlessly integrated MIDI keyboard controller designed for creating tracks in Ableton Live and working with external equipment. The Launchkey 37 MK3 offers eight Scale modes, allowing you to explore new musical territories by transposing the keys you play into the selected scale. Simply choose your root note and preferred scale, and let your fingers do the rest. Three Chord modes transform the keys and pads into an interactive surface for musical exploration, where every note played is connected harmonically and tonally. The arpeggiator opens up new melodic possibilities and helps you discover ideas quickly, while the mutate function reconstructs your patterns into exciting new forms.

Custom Modes give you more control over your controller and software relationship. Using the Novation Components browser-based tool, you can program Custom Modes to tailor the behavior of your Launchkey MK3, including control assignments, MIDI routing, pad colors, and much more.

Equipped with a full-size five-pin MIDI DIN output, Launchkey 37 MK3 allows simple connection to a wide range of MIDI devices, both new and old. With its standalone capabilities, Launchkey becomes the central hub of your live or studio setup, regardless of whether you're using a computer or not.

The Launchkey platform has always emphasized flexibility, and the MK3 revision embodies this principle. Improved velocity-sensitive pads offer enhanced control over dynamics, while eight fixed rotary knobs bring your software to life at your fingertips. The integration with Ableton Live is seamless, featuring a dedicated button for activating the Capture MIDI function, as well as track arm, quantize, click, and loop controls for swift navigation within your session.

In addition to its integration with Ableton Live, Launchkey also offers full integration with Logic and Reason, and out-of-the-box functionality with other popular DAWs such as Studio One, Cubase, and Pro Tools via HUI.

Firmware v.1.1 Update

The firmware v1.1 update introduces the new Strum Mode feature to Launchkey [MK3]. Strum Mode was created as an inspirational new feature to help ignite that creative spark and add an extra dimension to melody making. Easy to use, users can hold down notes and trigger strum mode by using the mod wheel on the Launchkey [MK3]. For total sonic variation, Strum Mode can also be used alongside other arpeggiator modes on Launchkey devices.
