Description
Breedlove SNCP03ETEAM Signature Companion Copper E Torrefied European-African Mahogany
From Breedlove:
Torrefied European Spruce - African Mahogany
SIGNATURE COMPANION COPPER E
Much more than a beach guitar, the Signature Companion Copper E puts all of Breedlove’s famous tone and playability into a traveler frame, ready to sling over your shoulder or step on the stage. In every way, the Companion feels like a “real” guitar, because it is, right down to its Natural Sound electronics package, full width nut and slim, fast neck. Developed in Bend, Oregon, with Sound Optimization in mind, this traditional, non-cutaway instrument is your true friend, ready to go wherever you go, and ready to take you places you’ve never been.
Sustainable & Clear Cut Free
Made from sustainably-sourced exotic and native tonewoods. No clear-cut trees are used in these instruments. Breedlove uses salvaged and individually harvested timber and has deep relationships with responsible suppliers around the globe. As we move towards sustainability across all lines, owner Tom Bedell has visited 15 countries to discover exactly where the wood comes from, how it is selected and harvested, and how this affects the wildlife, the community, the forest and the planet.
AFRICAN MAHOGANY
Sometimes called khaya, African mahogany has a familiar crisp, clean and warm voice and boasts an impressive versatility, taking well to fingerpicking as well as to a more robust strumming attack without losing clarity. All mahogany instruments—like the Organic Collection Wildwood Series (which features sustainably harvested wood source from the Republic of Congo) offer a natural compression that delights blues players, folkies and singer/songwriters.
COMPANION BODY SHAPE
Historically, serious guitar players on-the-move have faced a rather tough dilemma; contend with the challenges of traveling with a full-size guitar or settle for a more convenient, smaller instrument with traditionally reduced sound quality… the travel guitar.
REAL SOLID TONEWOODS FOR SUPERIOR SOUND
No Richlite or resin impregnated softwoods, no glue-heavy plywoods: just solid real tonewoods for real tone.
NATURAL SOUND ELECTRONICS
New Breedlove Natural-Sound electronics with volume and tone controls, and easy battery replacement uses 2 x AAA batteries.
TORREFIED EUROPEAN SPRUCE
As a guitar top, European spruce is powerful like Adirondack, clear like Sitka, and complex and responsive like Engelmann, all of which are employed in various Breedlove guitar lines. Torrefied European spruce graces the Artista, Performer and Signature Series in Breedlove’s new Organic Collection of sustainably sourced, all solid wood guitars at revolutionary prices. Torrefaction, a thermal process that artificially ages the wood while also turning it more resilient, makes these instruments explode with vintage tone, singing like an old friend that’s been played by a master for 30 years. With the Organic Collection three years in the making, Breedlove owner Tom Bedell literally climbed a mountain to be positive that the exotic FSC-certified tonewoods used in the assortment are harvested in responsible ways that respect the earth, while providing for superior tone that will last a lifetime. High in the windblown Swiss Alps, Bedell watched as European spruce trees were individually selected—each yielding many dozens of top sets—with an eye towards keeping the old growth stands robust for decades to come.

We are pleased to present these very detailed specifications for your 2020 Breedlove acoustic guitar, which was designed in Bend, Oregon and crafted in China. In addition to dimensions, we have listed every piece of wood in this model: its common name, scientific name, and country where the tree grew. We use no clear-cut wood. We either salvage dead trees or individually harvest to minimize the impact on the forest. You can travel globally with your Breedlove worry free. No permits are needed. That said, it might be helpful to have this information on hand if you are traveling internationally.
